Select Stem Cell ("Select Stem Cell," "we," "us," or "our") is a US patient-services and information company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit selectstemcell.com and any related sub-domains (the "Site") or submit a confidential intake to be connected with an independent, state-licensed physician.
This Policy does not describe the privacy practices of any independent treating physician, clinic, or laboratory you may be referred to. Once you enter into a physician-patient relationship with an independent provider, that provider's notice of privacy practices governs the handling of your protected health information ("PHI") under HIPAA.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information directly from you when you submit an intake form, request information, call us, or interact with the Site:
- Identity & Contact: first name, last name, email address, telephone number.
- Eligibility Inputs: the indication or wellness goal you select, your preferred US state, and any optional notes you choose to share.
- Technical & Usage: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps, collected via standard server logs and cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
- Communications: records of emails, calls, text messages, or chat sessions you exchange with our patient-services team.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, please contact us and we will delete the record.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To respond to your inquiry and, if appropriate, to refer you to an independent state-licensed physician for an informational consultation.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site.
- To send you transactional messages relating to your inquiry, including appointment coordination and follow-up.
- To send you educational, regulatory, and service updates that you may unsubscribe from at any time.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and prohibited activity.
- To comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, or legal process.
We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration, and we do not use your information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA).
3. How We Share Information
We share information only as described below:
- Independent treating physicians and their clinics — when you have requested a referral, so they can determine clinical appropriateness and contact you.
- Service providers and processors — including our customer-relationship-management vendor (GoHighLevel / LeadConnector), email and messaging vendors, hosting and analytics vendors, and call-center technology, in each case bound by contractual obligations to use the information only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety — when we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of any person.
- Corporate transactions — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to customary confidentiality protections.
4. Legal Bases (EEA / UK Visitors)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases under the GDPR/UK GDPR: (a) your consent, (b) the necessity of processing to take steps at your request prior to entering a service relationship, (c) compliance with a legal obligation, and (d) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Site, balanced against your rights and freedoms.
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you reside, you may have the following rights:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
- Delete personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not engage in either, but the right is preserved).
- Limit use of sensitive personal information, where applicable.
- Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will verify your request and respond within the time frames required by applicable law.
6. Health Information & HIPAA
Select Stem Cell is generally not a HIPAA-covered entity. The information you submit through the Site is collected for the limited purpose of helping you connect with an independent, state-licensed physician and is not, by itself, treated as protected health information under HIPAA. Once you establish a physician-patient relationship with an independent provider, that provider's HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices will apply to all clinical records.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the services you have requested, comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When the information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we collect, including encryption in transit, access controls, and vendor due diligence. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Transfers
The Site is operated from the United States. If you visit the Site from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, which may have data-protection laws different from those of your jurisdiction.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date above indicates when the Policy was last revised. Material changes will be communicated through the Site or by email if we have your address.
